Situated on the South Coast of KZN and only an hour’s drive from Durban, the picturesque and tranquil village of Umtentweni, a suburb of the town of Port Shepstone.
The area has kilometres of beautiful beaches and sandy coves edged with the lacy surf of the blue Indian Ocean and interlinked with lagoons, that vary from extremely popular Blue Flag Beaches with entertainment and other amenities, to deserted pristine beaches where you can walk alone for miles.
For the energetic, there is a choice of 10 top class golf courses, deep sea surf and river fishing, world-ranked dive sites, hiking trails, kayaking, and local tennis and bowls clubs. The nearby Oribi Gorge boasts the highest swing in the world (33 storeys high) as well as abseiling, river rafting, mountain biking and hiking trails.
Umtentweni has 5 bars that serve food all day, a Quickspar for grocery shopping, a post office and several other shops.
The East wing is a three-story house that has recently been built. The main bedroom, with en-suite toilet and basin, is on the ground floor together with the granite kitchen and bathroom with walk in shower.
The main living room is on the first floor and has a 50 inch plasma satellite tv and slepercouches.
The second floor is an attic bedroom.
The East Wing is huge and can take 10 people as long as you don't mind sharing a room
The basic charge is for a family of two adults with two children. Each extra person is R100 per night
For those in beds we provide linen. Please bring your own towels. If you want to use the sleepercouches then please bring your own linen.
The large garden has a stream and swimming pool and is visited by many birds and sometimes virvet monkeys. The pool is heated with solar panels.
Thirty five seconds walk from Ambleside is Umtentweni beach which is excellent for surfing. Also close by is Port Shepstone country club with facilities for golf, tennis, squash and bowls. Shelly Beach is a 15 minute drive away from a cinema and shopping malls. A 35 minute drive away is the Wild Coast casino while inland there are the nature reserves Lake Eland and Oribi Gorge.
We do not allow music so if you want to party, Ambleside is not the place to be.

The East Wing is a 3 story house. It is huge and built to the highest standards. The cost is for a family of two adults with two children out of school holidays. Holiday times are more expensive. Each adult above two will be charged R100 per night.
