Khotso Backpackers is a Hostel deep in the Drakensberg Mountains. Being close to the town of Underberg, the Sani Pass, and the Border of Lesotho, Kingdom of the Sky, makes this backpackers perfect for the budget traveler wanting to take their adventure a step further in South Africa, and visit the Mountain Kingdom of Lesotho. This mountain Backpackers has a dorm room with bunk beds (linen included, as well as double rooms for those couples who prefer the privacy of their own room. Use of the kitchen is open to those who prefer to self cater, but meals are available from the Backpackers also.

Khotso Backpackers is probably better known for the Horse trails, and the treks done into Lesotho on Horseback. Khotso is after all said and done a working Horse, and sheep farm. This is one of many reasons Khotso Backpackers is such an attractive option for international travelers: Not only get to appreciate the raw, and natural beauty of the Drakensberg Mountains, but also get to experience it on "real" level. The trekking into Lesotho on horseback is definitely an adventure of epic proportions, and should be reason enough to come visit the Beautiful country of South Africa

Other than the BACKPACKERS near the Sani Pass and Underberg, the horsetrails in the Drakensberg mountains, and the trekking tour into Lesotho, Khotso has more to offer: we offer guided hikes on our farm and in the nature reserves close by, we also offer multi-day guided hikes into Lesotho. There is a large self-catering Lodge, and Rondawels, for the romantic couple or families (sleeps up to 5). Around the farm there is trout fishing available, mountain biking and trail running routes, the Underberg Cheesery is close-by, and the Sani Pass is a stone's throw away.
