With overlooking the Maluti Mountains from the Veranda. The Highlands Guest House, originally built in 1914, is situated in Zastron, in the Eastern Free State, South Africa at the foot of the Aasvoelberg.
Although we in town and close to all businesses it feels like you on a farm with the spacious garden and peacefulness. With fruits like cherries, apricots, peaches, figs, prickly-pears, pears, apples and even nuts. We make our own jams and serve our food as far as possible in season fresh from our garden.
Our luxury 3 star rooms are spacious with en-suite bathrooms, 39 channels DSTV, a safe for your valuables, bar fridge, heaters, electric blankets, coffee station, desk space and dressing table with hairdryer.
Spacious garden with a Vegetable garden and Fruit trees. Swing for kids, and a little fountain. We also offer FREE WI-FI internet to our guests.
Zastron is an active agricultural town and with the breathtaking landscape, creased with mountains, this is definitely a place not to be missed. The annual cultural festival, Die GATfees, takes place every October and is an absolute must for anyone who wants to experience Zastron at its very best.
Glaze art and Galere, Aasvoelberg Outdoor centrum, Full of 4x4 trails, game farms, hunting opportunities, fishing, hiking trails, mountain biking, river rafting, and many more, there are endless ways for the outdoorsman to be entertained here. With the hunting concession on one of our game farms you can even hunt all year long. The open hearted community will welcome any visitor with lovely places to stay and excellent food at local guesthouses, restaurant and takeaways. Take time to relax and meet the local people for a drink at one of the bars.
All our double rooms have a double bed, couch, heater, electric blanket, DSTV, Bar fridge and a safe for your valuables. They also have a private entrance. Incl. Bed, breakfast and dinner.

Our family rooms consist of a double bed and 2 single beds. An extra bed can be put in by arrangement for a family of 5. All the rooms consist of the following: A bar fridge, DSTV, Safe, couch, electric blanket. 2 of the rooms are self-catering.
