Birdsong Cottage is situated in Parys (Free State), just over an hour's drive from Johannesburg.
Parys has many art galleries, antique stores, pubs, restaurants, coffee shops and many shops to browse, looking for a bargain or something unique.

Take relaxed strolls along the Vaal river and watch the bird life.
For the more adventurous there are river rafting, quad biking and much more...
You will be a stone's throw away from the Vaal river and you will be forgiven for mistaking the sound of the river for the sea.

If you do not hear any bird song during your stay we will consider you to be hard of hearing.
Listen to the sound of birds and the call of the Fish Eagle and if you are fortunate enough to see one you'll have to play the lotto as you'll be considered very lucky.


This is luxury self catering accommodation about 150m from the Vaal river and is suitable for one or two couples.
The one bedroom has a queen size bed & the other a double bed, extra length. Both are fitted with dual control electric blankets for chilly winter nights.

Remote controlled ceiling fans, lights and air conditioners in living area and rooms.

Both bathrooms are en suite with extractor fan, heater, corner baths and big showers. Quality linen and soft towels provided. A hair dryer is provided in each room.

Flat screen tv with full DSTV / PVR in living area.

The kitchen is fully fitted with microwave, stove, fridge/freezer and utensils. We provide instant Nescafe, ground coffee with plunger, tea, sugar and milk for your first few cups.

The cottage has two small courtyards with Weber braai and outside sitting area. Briquettes and fire lights provided for your 1st barbeque.

One under cover and one open parking behind electric gate.

We are perfectionists which reflects in the detail and the level of service our guests will receive.

Due to the mature, quaint and cosy nature of the cottage, we unfortunately do not accept children under 12 years of age.
