Only 2.5 hours drive from Jo'burg on the N4 and 1 hour from Nelspruit, Absolute Leisure Cottages is located in the quaint village of Machadodorp. Absolute Leisure Cottages is an AA recommended self catering establishment. Just 1 More Cast Cottages have lovely thatched and tin roofs, cool in summer and cosy in winter. Logs fires and electric blankets are provided for the cool winter evenings. Each cottage has its own private garden with garden furniture and braai area. Machado House is a beautiful old Victorian House subdivided into 3 separate living units each with its own entrance. All cottages and units have fully equipped kitchens with fridge, freezer and microwave, all luxury bedding & towels and TV with DSTV as well as books, garden and board games make Absolute Leisure Cottages the ideal weekend or holiday getaway. And being just off the N4 the cottages are an ideal stop over on the way to the Kruger, Mozambique and Swaziland.
Duckworths Dargle Delight sleeps 6 in two double bedrooms and single single bedrooms, one in the loft. There are two bathrooms, a spacious livingroom with cottage furniture, and a dining room and kitchen makes for comfortable spaceous holiday accommodation. The cottage's quaint rondavel rooms add to the experience of staying in the historical village of Machadodorp, once the capital of S Africa under President Paul Kruger in 1900 during the South African Wars. Wickham's Fancy sleeps four in a family room with kingsize bed and bunkbeds, and has a lovely breakfast bar between the bed sitting room and the kitchen. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and wash hand basin. Blue Dunn Cottage and Cats Whisker Cottage each sleep two in compact neat beautifully furnished cottages - ideal for a couple to explore the lovely Mpumalanga Highlands Region. Machado House has two 2 bedroomed units and one couple unit. Each is furnished in Victorian style, has log fire, kitchen, dining and livingroom facilities and a full bathroom with Victorian style legged bath and shower.
Activities in the area include Fly Fishing, exploring the historical village and surrounding historical sites, as well as horse riding, bird watching, walking and hiking, sight seeing the beautiful scenery in the Highlands area etc. A full list of tourist activities is supplied to guests. There are a couple of establishments both in the village and close by where you can eat out, and two pubs a short walk from the cottages. Fresh herbs are grown in the cottage Gardens for the culinary use of guests while visiting.
