Our fully renovated Victorian townhouse is arranged in its own African decoration. We are located in a quiet and safe cul-de-sac with lots of parking in front of the guest house, close to the famous Waterfront and the center of Cape Town. Restaurants, bars and bustling nightlife are just around the corner. We offer 5 rooms with a fan for those hot nights.
You can choose between one of our larger family rooms, or double bed and single bed rooms suitable for a family of 3 or just a couple, and twin bed rooms. All our rooms have a bathroom en-suite with shampoo and shower gel provided, and are equipped with a safe, heater, charging points, and a hairdryer. The House and all the rooms have LED lighting for those load-shedding nights and there's still Wi-Fi. The spacious communal area consists of a bright and sun filled Wintergarden, a lounge with fireplace and downstairs you will find a fully fitted kitchen with a cozy dining area as well as a pretty little courtyard for those warm summer evenings. We offer all kinds of day trips or tours through Southern Africa as well as expert advice on what to do and how to get there. We have plenty of recommendations for restaurants, markets or help with booking your rental car.
House on The Hill is set in a quiet street in Green Point, within walking distance from the V&A Waterfront and offering easy access to the city centre. The immediate area is safe to walk around in, day or night. There is an array of restaurants, delis and a bakery for all your culinary needs. Also a Spar supermarket if you are in need of supplies for self-catering. Walk up Table Mountain and enjoy the wonderful views from up there, it's a must! If you are lazy, tired or short of time, take the Cable Car. Alternatively climb up Lions Head, views are magnificent and atmosphere is a bit more private. Take the ferry to Robben Island and take a guided tour by a former prisoner. Visit the cell of Nelson Mandela and learn about the history of the political dissidents. Explore the oldest building in Cape Town, the Castle of Good Hope.
Take a closer look at Cape Town's history at the District Six Museum, the Company Gardens and the South African National Museum. If you want to see something different - go on a guided Township Tour and learn about the history, culture and life of the township people. Explore the colourful Bo-Kaap, smell the Malayan spices and feel the culture and lifestyle. See penguins in Boulders Beach, baboons, whales, dolphins, zebras and ostriches roaming the Cape Peninsula National Park and visit the Cape of Good Hope, where you have a stunning view over the False Bay. Visit the internationally renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, where you find most of the African plant species in a scenic surrounding.
