Gariep Dam, SunRose Group of Guest Houses are self-catering establishments. Guesthouses are situated halfway between Johannesburg and Cape Town and are a few km from the N1 highway. SunRose Group consists of 14 different units in the Gariep Dam Village. It is an ideal pit-stop for the weary guest simply wanting to break their journey to have a single night sleepover or for the guest wanting to spend some extra days enjoying what the beautiful Gariep Dam village and the surrounding area have to offer. SunRose is divided into multiple separate, fully equipped self-catering units. All units have either quality beds with white, quality linen and towels for comfort. Each unit is fitted with air-conditioning for those extra hot Karoo days, as well as heaters and indoor braai areas to snuggle up to on those chilly nights. Each unit has a TV with an Openview decoder. All units have charming lapas where you can simply enjoy the quiet peaceful surroundings or enjoy a lovely braai or picnic. Safe undercover parking is available on-site for vehicles and trailers. All units have access to the communal pool. There are plenty of fruit trees and all/any fruit on the trees are there for guests to enjoy picking. Soak up the crispy Karoo air, look up at the night sky and see billions of stars, identify the milky way, and watch the satellites pass overhead. Food for your soul!!

Don't be deceived by the pictures. There is nothing peacefully when staying here. You are in Gariep town, closed in, no views and load music from the surrounding area made the stay very unpleasant. Felt unsafe too

The room was as neat as a pin. When we arrived there, the heater and the electric blanket was already on. The full DSTV was really a full DSTV, and we got free Wi-Fi also. This was the best overnight stay that we had. It was the best we had in years. The bathroom was clean, and the bed and linen was awesome. I personally vote it the best and affordable for everyone. And that said, remember we stayed there in June when it was very cold. Thanks again for great service.

Comfortable stop on our drive through to the coast.
Beds were comfortable, the house was clean. Overall a good experience for our family.

I was concerned about safety as the area where our accommodation was confirmed did not look nice at all. The place itself was however spotlessly clean and adequately equipped accept for a plug that was unsafe as it was completely coming out of the wall. I however did report this to Ronny.
