Come and spend a few nights in our cosy, beautifully restored farm cottages to enjoy Klein Karoo living at its unpretentious best.
Our Vineyard cottages, built in genuine Cape Dutch style and fully fitted with modern amenities, are situated next to a Shiraz vineyard and offer stunning views of the surrounding Swartberg mountains.
Each cottage has one double bedroom (en suite) and a comfortable living area fitted with a kitchenette. Both cottages offer additional sleeping options for kids in the living area. Thick clay walls and classic sash windows complement the homely ambience of the décor. Outside each cottage is a patio with braai facilities, deck table and sun umbrella; we also offer top quality braai packs for sale (at cost price to our guests).
Our luxury family house, Herbert House, sleeps up to 8 people.
During the cold Klein Karoo winter months we proved fluffy duvets, hot chocolate, electric hot water bottles and lovely, authentic wood ovens for heating. In summer, a swimming pool next to the main house offers respite from the heat.
De Kombuys Farm is situated 23km outside Oudtshoorn, 3km from the world-renowned Cango Caves. The farm follows an organic, eco-sensitive approach to farming. Our cattle is hormone-free and exclusively grass-fed. We have free range chickens and an organic vegetable garden. Our philosophy is one of long-term sustainability: we strive to create an ecosystem that takes care of itself, even while it sustains a flourishing farming practice.
Guests are free to meander and explore our various eco-related activities. There is also an abundance of bird life in the environment – we recommend bringing along some binoculars to enjoy it. Or you may simply want to sit back and appreciate the view (or the braai) – our aim is to provide each visitor with a relaxed, authentic living experience, surrounded by the beauty of the natural landscape.
