Overzicht

Sweetwater Farm Cottages offers three self-catering cottages on a working farm in Redford Road, a quiet, rural part of The Crags, which lies in between Nature’s Valley and Plettenberg Bay in the beautiful Garden Route.

Known as the Red Barn by locals, it retains the original yellow-wood ceilings and black-wood trusses. The beautiful stone-masonry is 160 years old.

You will love hiking on the farm trails, the mountain trails past the Waterfall through the indigenous forest, or through the beautiful fynbos along Palmiet River.

Many artists have made their homes here and one of the annual art exhibitions is held in Sweetwater Barn. We also have a very active quilting community and would love to start quilting workshops and retreats.

We have three self-catering cottages which are all private but are within walking distance to each other which makes them perfect for larger groups of family, friends or business getaways.

Oak Tree Cottage

Oak Tree cottage is within walking distance of the other cottages and the main farmhouse and has a spacious ‘stoep’ with braai facilities and stunning views. The cottage has two bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and the other with two single beds. There is one bathroom with a shower, as well as a large open-plan kitchen / living room, with a TV and sleeper couch, as well as comfortable armchairs.

Palmiet House

Palmiet House is a gem, an old restored farmhouse within walking distance of the other cottages. The house has five bedrooms and three bathrooms and is configured as follows: On the eastern side of the house, the main bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with bath, shower and toilet facilities. There are two more bedrooms, one has a queen sized bed and the other, two single beds. A second bathroom also offers shower and toilet facilities. The western side of the house has two more bedrooms, one with a queen sized bed and the other, two single beds. Another full bathroom with bath, shower and toilet, offers private facilities for this side of the house. There is a washing machine, as well as a dishwasher and a scullery / dishwashing area separate from the enormous open-plan kitchen / dining and living area. A separate spacious TV room boasts comfortable armchairs and sofas and there is an enormous ‘stoep’ or verandah with a built-in braai and comfortable outdoor furniture. The perfect house for a large family reunion and you can always bring the in-laws to stay in the other cottages.

Pine Tree Cottage

This cottage is close to the main farm house, but quite separate and private, with a beautiful view of the farmlands. The cottage has a kitchen, with a stove, microwave and fridge. The living room has a TV and comfortable armchairs. There is a queen sized bed in the bedroom and a modern bathroom with a shower.
