Intro:
Hornbill Private Lodge is a discrete family orientated, 8 bed self-catering game lodge situated within the 12,500 hectare Big 5 Mabalingwe Nature Reserve. Guests at the lodge have full access to all Mabalingwe's facilities.

Main Property / Accommodation Description:
The Lodge offers a main bedroom upstairs and two bedrooms downstairs. A fully fitted indoor kitchen with a separate pantry. An open-plan lounge and dining room, with DStv. There are three outside lapas which serve as a bush pub, breakfast lapa and outdoor kitchen-dining room. The Lodge is situated within walking distance from the Mabalingwe Caravan Park which boasts hot and cold swimming pools, the famous R&R bar, Shop and Liquor store and children’s playground.

The main bedroom upstairs has a double bed with an en-suite dressing room and bathroom and a private game viewing deck. The downstairs bedroom has two three-quarter size beds and an en-suite bathroom with a shower and a toilet, with a door leading into the garden. The third bedroom is a four-sleeper family room leading onto the breakfast lapa. This room is serviced with a separate shower and toilet.

Guests have full access to Mabalingwe's facilities including undertaking their own game drives.
Mabalingwe is a 12000 HA Big-5 Game Reserve. Facilities on Mabalingwe include the famous Khalahari Oasis Bar, Restaurant, tuck shops, tennis courts, putt-putt, swimming pools in various locations, holiday programs for the whole family, game drives, horseback riding and much more.

Absolutely amazing what a fabulous surprise

The lodge was in a perfect location. Very private with animals coming to visit in the garden. The house was well equipped but needed a little upgrading, the duvet covers also needed to be replaced. The blinds needed repairing as they didn’t open properly. But having said that the house was big enough and very comfortable for 8 people and didn’t lack a thing. The splash pool was a total bonus. Gas options for load shedding was provided, charge lights were provided and the stoep in front and the lapa at the back was amazing. We did feel that R7200 was astronomical for 2 nights for 4 people though. The host Jaco was absolutely amazing and very professional.
