Overzicht
Jembisa is a beautiful, classic safari house, located within its own private game reserve in the heart of the beautiful Waterberg Plateau, in the northern Limpopo Province of South Africa. The safari adventure offering is flexible, tailor made with many, many safari activities on offer to suit all ages. It is perfect for families, multi-generational groups and small groups of friends. The safari experience is timeless with an extraordinary level of service and attention to detail. Jembisa Bush Home won the 2019 Safari Guild awards for the Best Safari House in South Africa and Best Family Safari Experience South Africa, amongst other awards. The reserve is a beautiful un-spoilt Wilderness of rivers, cliffs, gorges, woodland and open savanna that has been preserved through careful conservation management.
LODGE ACCOMMODATION AND FACILITIES:
Jembisa is beautifully appointed and extremely comfortable with spacious, light and airy rooms and 6 en-suite bedrooms and a children’s bunkroom. The total capacity of Jembisa is 12 adults & 4 children. It is surrounded by a beautiful garden with lots of lawn and shady trees with a swimming pool, floodlit tennis court, bush -croquet lawn and trampoline. Monkeys, banded mongoose and tortoises are frequent visitors to the garden. All ground floor rooms open onto a wide, shaded verandah, perfect for bird-watching, playing games, reading and sundowners. There is a library - including special African reference section. A wooden deck provides wide views over the Palala river and beyond and facilities for massages and other spa treatments. Wi-Fi is available in all rooms. There is a small curio shop.
ACTIVITIES:
There are a wide range of activities to suit all ages and interests, including day and night game drives, guided bush walks, wildlife camera trap setting, bird watching, camp outs under the stars, mountain biking, teen tracker programmes, swimming, fishing, visits to Bushman painting and Iron Age sites on the reserve and massage treatments for those looking for more relaxation. We also offer interesting activities nearby such as safari horseback riding, big 5 game drives, safari golf, shopping at African curio art shops, adventurous zip lining and cultural tours (subject to availability).
WILDLIFE:
The landscape provides a wide variety of habitats, resulting in a high diversity of animal and plant species. The reserve offers 69 animal species and 270 bird species. Night drives are a favourite where guests can search for the more elusive nocturnal animals such as bush babies, porcupines, aardvark, caracals, leopards and brown hyenas.
CHILDREN AT JEMBISA:
Children of all ages are very welcome at Jembisa. A wide range of fun, interesting and entertaining activities have been developed to enthral, enchant and educate children of all ages. There is also a spacious playroom where children’s books, games and wildlife videos are available. Free baby-sitting is provided.
MEALS & DIETARY REQUIREMENTS:
All meals are freshly prepared by the chef who makes use of fresh, local and seasonal ingredients. We will gladly cater for any special dietary requirements and offer a variety of exciting dining venues both at the lodge and in the bush. Special occasions can be celebrated in style.
WEDDINGS & CONFERENCES:
Jembisa and its sister lodge Magari lend themselves perfectly as a romantic safari destination wedding venue. Weddings of any size can be arranged up to a maximum of 45 guests, who would be accommodated across the two lodges and our bush camps. Each wedding is crafted individually in consultation with the bridal couple. The wedding ceremony and celebration can be conducted anywhere around the lodge and on the reserve. Likewise, conferences can be arranged and accommodated across the two lodges.
