River Magic Cottages offers three fully equipped, self-catering cottages that blend seamlessly with the peaceful rural surroundings. Each cottage is thoughtfully designed to provide comfortable and easy holiday living, complete with unique architecture that compliments the indigenous style of this charming hamlet. The cottages, with exclusive river frontage, offer a perfect retreat for those looking to unwind in nature. However, guests are advised that the unguarded water frontage is not suitable for unsupervised children, and towels must be brought along as they are not provided. The Luxury Cottage is a two-story retreat on the riverfront, featuring 2 twin-bedded rooms, another 2 bedrooms with a king-size bed, and a double bed. With a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, lounge with a fireplace, and braai area, it’s perfect for larger groups. Guests can enjoy the use of a canoe and a rowboat, ideal for leisurely river exploration. The Deluxe Cottage is accessible only by boat and offers stunning river views from its stoep, braai area, and balcony. It includes 5 bedrooms, a living area with an open fireplace, and both indoor and outdoor showers. Guests are ferried to the cottage. The Superior Cottage also sits on the riverfront and accommodates 12 guests in 5 bedrooms. It features an open-plan living area, 3 bathrooms, and an outside braai area. Guests can enjoy canoeing and rowing, with the option to attach their own small engines to the rowboat. Like the Deluxe Cottage, guests are ferried to the location. River Magic Cottages provide a serene escape where guests can reconnect with nature in a truly unique setting.
The Duiwenhoks Estuary and its surrounds are one of the last remaining pristine estuaries in South Africa. The Duiwenhoks Conservancy has been established to preserve its unique character. The area is also a Nature Conservation Protectorate. It is required that residents and visitors adhere to the rules and guidance of both bodies.
