Just over halfway between Montagu & Barrydale, Windvogels offers the rare experience of uninterrupted silence and 360° views of nature. Nestled among hills and semi-desert Wilderness, on a 211-hectare farm, it’s a place to unplug and reconnect.
We offer two units named, The Hare and The Hunter.
The Hunter: Designed to be a secluded couple’s suite, and is named after the constellation of Orion, depicted in the unit’s interior ‘star wall’. But the constellation is inverse, with Orion orientated downwards - The Hunter is resting, as should you be. This unit is also wheel-chair accessible.
The Hare: Perched atop a hill, The Hare has panoramic views of both sunrise over the Warmwaterberg Mountains and sunset below the Langeberg. A symbol of rebirth and abundance, the Hare constellation is this unit’s ‘star wall’, as a tribute to the wild hares that live on the farm.
Escape to our off-the-grid farm stay with a 2-sleeper and spacious 4-sleeper villa. Enjoy extra length queen beds in all rooms, vaulted ceilings, indoor fireplaces, patio, and gas braais - perfect for a peaceful, stylish getaway in nature. Unwind in comfort and style. The open-plan layout includes a fully equipped kitchen with a gas hob and air fryer or microwave, making meal prep easy and convenient. Step outside onto the private patio, perfect for al fresco meals or relaxing under the stars. Enjoy a traditional South African braai using the Weber gas braai. After a long day, soak in the wood-fired hot tub, surrounded by nature and tranquillity. This space blends modern comfort with rustic charm - ideal for couples, small families, or solo travellers looking for a peaceful getaway.
