Your hosts, Johan and Danél Muller, will offer you the warmest South African welcome! 40 on Ilkey is brand new, with seven beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms. Warm wooden floors and décor in shades of honey are completed by comfortable beds with crisp percale linen. Each room is fully serviced and stocked with tea, coffee and biscuits.
Sumptuous breakfasts are served in the open plan dining room and lounge. The winter chill is kept at bay by a roaring log fire and, during summer, one is able to enjoy the scented rose garden. Picnic baskets, lunch boxes and dinners are available upon request.
A five minute walk takes one to the Struben Dam, situated on the meandering Waterkloof Spruit. This 11 hectare bird sanctuary is ideal for bird watching and fishing, as the dam is stocked with Bass, Carp and Barbel. As with the best things in life, admission is free! Why not arrange for a picnic basket filled with gourmet goodies and a chilled bottle of 40 on Ilkey's specially selected wine? Whether you choose to bird watch, fish or simply relax on a blanket with a good book, a visit to the Struben Dam is guaranteed to relax anyone.
