Amani Guest Lodge, tucked away within the tree-lined suburb of Walmer, Port Elizabeth, is a welcoming retreat for those seeking the best of city living, combined with the warmth and comfort of a true African lodge.

“Amani” is a Swahili word that means 'peace and harmony’, carefully chosen to represent the sheer luxury and relaxation of this sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of city living.

The African cultures are known for their warmth and hospitality. Amani Guest Lodge is dedicated to maintaining this important tradition, treating each guest to a unique, indulgent experience during their time in the Friendly City, as Port Elizabeth is affectionately known.

Our sophisticated décor, attention to detail and graceful Gardens all play their part in ensuring that our guests are pampered and relaxed at Amani Guest Lodge. In addition, Walmer is centrally located. Amani Guest Lodge is, therefore, within a few minutes’ drive of the airport, major shopping centers, doctors, hospitals and even the beautiful beaches for which the Eastern Cape is known and loved.

Amani Guest Lodge is situated within a few minutes’ drive from the Port Elizabeth Airport. However, being completely out of the flight path, there is no noise disturbance from the jets overhead.

Amani Guest Lodge has a total of eight en-suite rooms available, ranging from two- to four-sleepers, depending on your preferences and needs as well as a self-catering unit.. Each of the rooms leads out onto a patio overlooking a lush green garden, while others, face the sparkling swimming pool.

The spacious rooms at Amani Guest Lodge have been tastefully decorated with paintings by "Otto", the artistic owner. All paintings are up for sale. Cotton Percale linens invite guests to relax in the lap of luxurious African living, while taking advantage of all the modern amenities on offer.

The rooms are serviced daily which ensures that guests come ‘home’ to clean, neat and inviting rooms at the end of a busy day spent exploring Port Elizabeth.

Amani Lodge was originally opened in 2006 in response to a need for luxurious, authentically African accommodation within the heart of Port Elizabeth, Nelson Mandela Bay. More than simply providing holiday and corporate accommodation, we wanted to create an experience that combined the rustic, elegant feel of colonial Africa with modern amenities, facilities and conveniences.

Today, Amani Guest Lodge (under new ownership & self-managed since end February 2016) continues to evolve, constantly striving to improve the experience of our guests. Our staff members share the passion, which radiates through every aspect of the lodge, making for a comfortable, efficient retreat for our valued customers.
