Formerly the Gariep Hotel, de Stijl Gariep Hotel is now the Upper Karoo�s most stylish 4-star hotel, offering 41 chic, contemporary, extremely comfortable rooms with accommodation for up to 130 guests. The hotel overlooks the Gariep Dam, giving breathtaking big sky views.

The atmosphere is ideal for lazy long weekends, breakaways, over night stops, conferences, functions and weddings.

Surrounded by the stark beauty of the Karoo, the Gariep Dam stretches for as far as the eye can see; jeweled sunsets blaze across the African sky and the sound of silence lulls guests to sleep under the Southern Cross.

On the N1, halfway between Cape Town and Gauteng and 180km from Bloemfontein access is easy from the Northern Cape, Free State and Eastern Cape. de Stijl is ideally placed to make your journey less stressful and more rewarding. It is after all about the journey and not just the destination.

de Stijl prides itself in awe inspiring weddings, weddings with a difference in the unique setting of the Karoo.

Our wedding packages are based on a weekend wedding and include an all in one wedding service with our expert wedding coordinator in charge of your perfect day. Accommodation for guests, catering and restaurant facilities all fall under the eye of our experts. We can accommodate up to 300 guests at your wedding feast and provide up to 130 guests with accommodation.

Our views are the perfect backdrop for photos and of course cocktails before the party begins. Keeping your guests entertained is also part of our pride � game drives, golf, sailing and sunset cruises can be arranged.

For the honeymoon � we offer stylish accommodation, a relaxed atmosphere and the perfect setting to start your life together!

Accommodation

Our 41 newly refurbished rooms offer the ultimate luxury of space, indulgent premium percale linen, oversize fluffy towels and other delights to make your stay a memorable one. All our rooms have two queen beds, satellite TV, air-conditioning, a dresser and a writing desk and lockable cupboards. Personal bathroom items are replenished daily.

33 of our rooms overlook the Gariep Dam, giving awesome sunset and sunrise views, ideal for a cocktail on your balcony.

Cuisine

Here at De Stijl we are proudly Karoo. We use Karoo produce where possible - organic, fresh and local is what we believe in. This belief is what makes our food unique and as tasty and as special as it is. Our chefs are passionate about the area and are always on the look out for new ideas and ingredients, so relax, join us on a journey through the Karoo and the best it has to offer.


Our Mondrian Restaurant seats up to 100 guests and is open to guests and day visitors for all meals.

To accompany your meal we have a full bar and a young but vibrant award winning wine cellar, brimming with excellent South African Wine.
