GeM Bateleur is an exclusive 10-bed self catering private lodge and is situated in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, one of South Africa's most open and broad-leafed Bushveld areas. The splendour of the African Bushveld and its mystical setting enfold Lodge GeM Bateleur and is the perfect base to experience exquisite bush life, breathtaking scenery and many places of interest from.
All rooms are spacious, air conditioned and elegantly furnished including hair dryers and gowns. DSTV in living area. The lodge consist out of the following: Four double bedrooms (twin beds or King), four bathrooms, an outdoors shower and an outdoors, mosquito net-protected romantic loft bedroom with two single beds or one king bed. The lodge is very well equipped and promises to be home away from home.
The quaint swimming pool is perfect for cooling down on a typical scorching Bushveld day. An outside shower provides a refreshing waker-upper in a completely unique setting. On the estate you will discover a hide offering a safe view over the waterhole where you can catch a glimpse of the animals in their natural feeding habitat. Animals roam around the lodge and some dare to quench their thirst in the swimming pool.
There is a number of wildlife to be seen in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate. Warthog, Impala are amongst the many other wildlife that leisurely co-exist here and which are always around the lodge. Several waterholes provide a window from where visitors can observe the activities of birds and wildlife.
Hoedspruit boasts a vast range of game reserves, safari drives, bird life routes and many other attractions. Some of these attractions are the Kapama Game reserve, Timbavati private game reserve and birding routes stretching from the Kruger National Park to the canyons. The Kruger National Park, Africa's biggest game reserve, is situated a mere 70 km from Hoedspruit.

Loft has two single beds that can be converted to a king bed. What a romantic and elegant haven! Or fun for the adventurous. Equipped with a vanity, air con and mosquito net. Hair dryer and gown supplied. External staircase. Part of the experience is an outdoors shower.

We had an incredible stay. Saw 10 mongoose, buck, giraffe. Very secure estate. Awesome beds, beautiful linen. Fully kitted out kitchen. Zodwa is amazing!!!
