Orange River Rafting Lodge is located on the banks of the Orange River, haven to numerous bird species. The resort is situated in lovely surroundings, 10km from the cross border to Namibia on the N7, on a small Lucerne farm in Vioolsdrift.
Comfortable, fully equipped self-catering wooden chalets and private campsites are perfectly located in the breathtaking natural landscape of the Orange River banks.
Chalets
Chalets are fully equipped with en-suite bathroom with shower, private braai area, air-conditioned, accommodate up to four persons and bedding is included. The kitchen area is equipped with a refrigerator with freezer, microwave oven, electronic kettle, cutlery and crockery and tea and coffee are supplied with our compliments.
Campsite
Caravan and camping sites are private and on grass with a power point, light and a Braai area. Each campsite has an undercover camp kitchen with a table and benches and a sink with running water on a private lawn. Neat and comfortable ablutions blocks with hot water showers are close to all campsites.
You are assured of friendly service and great facilities with every effort made to ensure that our visitors have a pleasant and memorable experience. Activities like fishing, swimming and rafting makes it the ideal family getaway, also a convenient stopover on your way to or from Namibia, situated halfway between Cape Town and Windhoek.

My previous experience as a camper at Orange River Rafting Lodge re the camping sites, ablution block, etc were excellent.
This was the first time that I booked a chalet and I was very disappointed as unfortunately the chalet that we stayed in had open spaces everywhere i.e. bottom and top of doors (when the wind blow it was just dust and leaves, even on your bedding), cob webs all over, not even chairs to relax on (except outside).
The restaurant also only had a very limited menu although we were telephonically informed that they serve anything that you wish for. We specifically wanted to know about this as we did not wish to take groceries for such a short period of time (2 nights and 2 days).

We thoroughly enjoyed our two separate overnight stays at Orange River Rafting Lodge.
The setting was lovely with beautiful views over the Orange River and was an excellent stop over when travelling with a pet.
Service was friendly and we enjoyed a tasty evening meal from the recently set up menu.
