The Island is made up of two types of accommodation and offering

The Island River Lodge
River Lodge consists of 4 Chalets each overlooking the Blyde River. Each chalet has been lovingly appointed with rustic and authentic finishings and strategically positions to make the most of the Blyde river, they all have patios made from Rhodesian Teak with outdoor seating which is enveloped by large indigenous trees and dense vegetation, immersing oneself in nature surrounded by the flow of water.
The rooms are connected via Rhodesian Teak decking.
River Lodge makes the most of the natural, raw, wild, and untouched beauty of the 8-hector property, the main area also has a large main deck overlooking the river and comprising of different lounge and dining areas, look out points and a relaxing infinity pool along with pool area and a seated “boma” area with firepit

The Island Tented Camp
Designed to make the most of the mountain views and natural surrounding environment of virgin untouched bush-veld, The Island Tented Camp offers 4 en-suite tented rooms, 2 of which is set as a queen, while the other 2 are set as twins. Each Tent is built on raised wooden platforms.
These platforms have been designed to provide eco cooling to the tents, by all containing small gaps between the slats to provide natural air circulation and cooling to the tents. Each tent has been strategically placed for privacy and each tent has its own bar fridge, tea and coffee making facilities as well as a Braai stand. All the tents are ensuite with bathrooms containing a walking shower and vanity as well as a separate toilet area.
The Tented Camp has a well-appointed Communal kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining areas as well as a large communal Boma area.

Due to our location within 16 km of Hoedspruit, the Island is uniquely situated in the middle of many wonderful activities and things to do. We have a wide range of different activities both near and further afield to cater to an all-encompassing experience. Orpen Gate is within an hour’s drive, the Blyde River Canyon is a 10-minute drive away, and the start of the start of Panorama Route including The 3 Rondavals, Bourke's Luck and God's Window is an hour’s drive away and Big 5 Game drives a mere 20 minute drive way
