Kempton Park, established in 1903, is a vibrant suburb located near Johannesburg, South Africa. Originally founded by Karl Wolff, who subdivided a portion of his farm and named the village after his birthplace, Kempten in Bavaria, the name evolved into Kempton Park. Over time, it grew into a prominent residential and commercial area, further boosted by the construction of the nearby Jan Smuts Airport in 1952, which later became OR Tambo International Airport. The town is well-equipped with numerous amenities, including over five major high schools, ample entertainment and sporting options, and convenient access to shopping malls and restaurants. Its proximity to the international airport makes it a prime location for both businesses and travellers. Additionally, the suburb is home to a large industrial zone called Spartan, which is known for its chemical manufacturing and other industries. The Kelvin Power Station, a significant coal power plant, is another key feature of Kempton Park's industrial landscape. Adjacent to the township of Tembisa, Kempton Park offers a unique blend of residential comfort and industrial vitality, making it a desirable area for settlement with diverse living options and recreational opportunities.
