St. Lucia village is a small, picturesque town which is an enclave within the Greater St. Lucia Wetland Park, now known as the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. It is the only village located within a nature reserve and St. Lucia Wetlands Guest House is your landmark in this natural wonder. Eco-tourism, adventure tourism and cultural tourism may all be enjoyed within the boundaries of the park.

There are many quaint restaurants along St. Lucia's main street (about a five minute drive from the Guest House) serving a wide selection of cuisine. The village of St. Lucia is considered a safe haven apart from the occasional Hippopotomus that you may find roaming in the village.

The climate of St. Lucia is subtropical. The summers are hot, especially January and February whilst the winters are mild. Almost 60% of the annual rain falls during the summer months.
