Situated on the South Coast of KZN and only an hour’s drive from Durban, the picturesque and tranquil village of Umtentweni, a suburb of the town of Port Shepstone.

The area has kilometres of beautiful beaches and sandy coves edged with the lacy surf of the blue Indian Ocean and interlinked with lagoons, that vary from extremely popular Blue Flag Beaches with entertainment and other amenities, to deserted pristine beaches where you can walk alone for miles.

For the energetic, there is a choice of 10 top class golf courses, deep sea surf and river fishing, world-ranked dive sites, hiking trails, kayaking, and local tennis and bowls clubs. The nearby Oribi Gorge boasts the highest swing in the world (33 stories high) as well as abseiling, river rafting, mountain biking and hiking trails.

Umtentweni has 5 bars that serve food all day, a Quickspar for grocery shopping, a post office and several other shops.

The SOUTH Wing was built in January 2015 to the highest standards. It consists of two rooms; a studio apartment and a living room / second bedroom. It is very private and guests have their own garden.

The basic charge is for a family of two adults with two children out of school holidays. Should there be more than two adults the charge will be increased. The charges will also be higher during school holidays.

Basic satellite TV is installed.

We provide bedding for those in beds but if you want to use the sleepercouches, please bring your own bedding.

Also please bring your own towels.

The large garden has a stream and swimming pool and is visited by many birds and sometimes vivid monkeys.

Thirty Five seconds walk from Ambleside is Umtentweni beach which is excellent for surfing. Also close by is Port Shepstone country club with facilities for golf, tennis, squash and bowls. Shelly Beach is a 15 minute drive away with a cinema and shopping malls. A 35minute drive away is the Wild Coast casino while inland there are the nature reserves Lake Eland and Oribi Gorge.

We do not allow music so if you want to party, Ambleside is not the place to be.

Cost is R750 a night for a group of 4 during school time

The South Wing was built in January 2015 to the highest standards. It consists of a Studio Apartment with an extra living room / second bedroom. The cost of the unit is for 2 adults and 2 children out of school holidays. Extra guests are charged at R100 per person per night.
