Berluda Farmhouse and Cottages is an intimate guesthouse experience in the fertile farming valley of Schoemanshoek, halfway to the Cango Caves. It offers charming self-catering family and luxury cottages, as well as luxury rooms in the farmhouse with breakfast. Close to all major attractions such as ostrich farms, Cango Wildlife Ranch and of course the world famous Cango Caves.

The name Berluda is an apricot variety. After not actively farming with apricots for some years, we have now re-introduced the Berluda-apricot to our valley. We are proud to process our own fresh products such as apricot jam, olive oil and marmalade, all from our own garden. Bird life is abundant in the beautiful Gardens of Berluda. The owners of Berluda, Piet and Laura Schoeman, also run one of the largest working ostrich farms in the area. Guests can be taken on a tour of the farm, on special request.

One of the highlights of a trip to Berluda is a visit to the World Heritage Site - the Swartberg Mountain Range. This magnificent Pass takes you to the quaint town of Prince Albert, only an hours' drive from Schoemanshoek. We are also within walking distance of a local winery and an olive and pottery farm.
