Glen Avon Lodge lies within the tranquil valley of the Constantia Winelands, tucked away in the foothills of the majestic Constantiaberg Mountains. The manor house, Cape Dutch in architecture and built by the early slaves to the Cape, proudly boasts its Arabic connections with its shell insignia, moulded high up on the gable tops. Today the estate is a peaceful haven set amidst rolling lawns and exquisite rose Gardens, where bird life is prolific, providing a unique blend of comfort and romance.
Elegant, private and luxuriously appointed bedrooms, with granite & glass en-suite bathrooms are all, air-conditioned, garden facing and furnished in a contemporary Cape style. With fervent attention to detail, each room boasts the comforts of cotton percale linen, comfy cushions, complementary toiletries, mini-bars, electronic safes and internet access.

During the balmy summer months, breakfast on the patio, shaded by lofty umbrellas and brightly coloured tablecloths from “Provence”, is a leisurely affair. Full English and continental breakfast buffet with freshly baked pastries being the order of the day.
With yellowwood beams and doors leading out onto a large verandah overlooking the Gardens and iceberg roses, the dining room is transformed in the evenings, as the lights are dimmed for intimate candle-lit dinners. The menu, with its blend of international & local flavours is further enhanced by freshly picked herbs and greens from the lodge’s own garden. The cuisine is tastefully prepared by our team of professional chefs and is served with an air of sophistication and a selection of premium local wines.
