Accommodation near Bloukrans Bridge Bungy Jump

When people mention adventure activities, particularly adrenaline-inducing ones, one of the first things which will pop into anyone's head is bungee jumping. If you don't know what that entails, imagine jumping head first off a raised platform (that is a building or a bridge like the Bloukrans Bridge), which is high above the ground with the only thing preventing you from hitting the ground being a rope attached to your ankles. Sound like fun? - A lot of people think so which has lead to the Bloukrans Bridge becoming such an attraction.

The bridge is an arch bridge crossing the Bloukrans River. The river is the physical boundary between the Western Cape and the Eastern Cape and its primary function is to allow the N2 freeway to cross the raging river below. The Bloukrans is located roughly 15 minutes from Nature's Valley, one of the most beautiful towns on the famed Garden Route.

The Garden Route, apart from boasting some very nice beaches and spectacular indigenous forests combined with soaring mountain peaks, is also a bit of an adventure hub, offering travellers a variety of options for inducing a bit of adrenaline. The Bloukrans bungee jump certainly aids this reputation, being the highest bungee jump in the world at 216 meters!

The endeavour is run by Face Adrenaline, a reputable company which has been running the bungee jump tours for years without problems. However, if you feel like the giant leap is more than you can handle, you can opt for the bridge walk instead, which takes you on a narrow walkway under the freeway, whence you can watch other crazy cats plunge over the edge, simultaneously thanking the stars that it's not you.

Plettenberg Bay
The beach is beautiful and clean. There are lots of activities, i.e. boat excursions, etc. to take part in, as well as many restaurants. On the way to Knysna or to Nature's Valley, which are either side of Plett, we came across many more activities such as horse riding and the Knysna Elephant Park. There is such a variety of things to do to keep busy and the Robberg hikes are a big hit too. There are also farm stalls next to the main road in both directions. Such a worthwhile place to visit!
