The CSIR International Convention Centre is located in Pretoria (Tshwane). As the name suggests, it is a venue specialised for hosting conferences, exhibitions and various other functions. This convention centre is indeed an excellent venue owing to its good location in Pretoria, a busy, well-developed city in South Africa. Furthermore it offers a wide range of services to accompany any event, all at competitive prices.
Some of the events hosted by the CSIR Convention Centre in the past include the Africa Conference on Elections, Democracy and Governance, the TRC hearings and the Bionet International Global Summit. These events each utilised numerous services offered by the convention centre.
Some of the services you can expect from the centre are catering, venue preparation, 1st aid, the use of audio-visual equipment, hotels, group transport, cleaning, security and more. Furthermore, services not offered directly by the CSIR Convention Centre will no doubt be offered by one of the convention centre’s trusted partners.
These services could include anything from conference organisation and live musicians to translators and businesses services such as currency exchange or graphic design work.
While the CSIR Convention Centre may not provide all the services directly, those services they do provide are highly satisfactory. The catering department for example, is flexible and experienced. Should your event require pastries, buffets or sit-down plated meals, the chef will oblige. The catering repertoire also includes cocktail bites and gala banquets as well as menu adaptations in the case of religious or medical dietary requirements.
Finally, the CSIR Convention Centre has a strong social responsibility and honours this by training disadvantaged people from the surrounding areas in the catering business. In addition, any food or consumables which are left over after an event are donated to various charities around Pretoria.
