Fourways Hospital is located in the suburb of Fourways in Johannesburg, Gauteng. It is a private hospital owned and run by the Life Healthcare group, one of the largest private hospital groups in South Africa. To date there are 63 Life healthcare facilities throughout the country. The group’s goal is to provide world-class health care with exceptional facilities and highly trained and passionate staff. Fourways Hospital is no different.
The staff at the hospital are highly trained and recognise that the ‘care experience’ is important for the patient and his or her loved ones. For this reason they are continuously undergoing quality training.
Fourways Hospital has 194 beds and 10 operating theatres. Its wide array of facilities allows doctors at the hospital to treat patients for a broad spectrum of complaints. Some of the disciplines practised are anaesthesiology, cardiology and cardio-thoracic surgery, ear, nose and throat surgery, nephrology, neurology, urolgy, psychiatry, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, maxilla-facial surgery and internal medicine among others.
There are also numerous specialised units which have a very tight focus and excellent facilities. For example, the trauma and emergency unit has a number of resuscitation bays, consultation rooms, a procedure facility (for dealing with lacerations etc), a casting area (for setting broken bones), a counselling area and a hazmat shower to treat chemical burns. Some of the other specialised services include a kidney unit, endovascular unit and maternity unit.
There are a number of ancillary services too ranging from physiotherapy and audiology to a pharmacy, occupational therapy, podiatry and more.

IF BY THIS YOU MEAN THE AREA, I HAVE BEEN THERE BEFORE AND IN FACT ONCE LIVED IN CLOSE PROXIMITY. OF COURSE MONTE CASINO IS THE MAIN ATTRACTION, ESPECIALLY AS I WATCHED THE BOKS WIN AGAINST CANADA THERE. HOWEVER THE WHOLE AREA IS EXTREMELY INTERESTING.
