Accommodation near Mandini Golf Course

Mandini, which is also sometimes known as Mandeni, is a small town on the KwaZulu Natal North Coast. Much of the town's population is employed by the Sappi paper factory, and a portion of the population is interested in golf. It is for them, and the odd visitor that the Mandini Golf Club exists.

The Tugela River runs through the town, and finds its mouth, where it meets the Indian Ocean, just 10 kilometres away. The Mandini Golf Club lies on the outskirts of the town and is surrounded by largely flat farmlands, and if you stretch your imagination, the sea.

The 9-hole golf course is special in that it was designed by its members, and not a pro golfer turned course designer who has little interest in the course's context. In sticking with this down-to-earth approach, the greens are open every day of the week and visitors are welcome whenever they have a golfing urge. Good news is that the visitors' fees are as friendly as the club's members. The golf club is an affiliate member of the South African Golf Association (SAGA) and offers members and visitors putting greens, caddies and a pro-shop.

Other facilities offered by the Mandini Golf Club include banquet and conferencing facilities, a bar and locker room in addition to billiards and squash courts. The dress code for all aspects of the club is casual but it's important that you wear proper golfing shoes on the green.

Mandini Golf Club (and the town of Mandini itself) is located 22 kilometres from Stanger, and 96 kilometres from Durban, making it really easy to get to simply by following the N2.

Zinkwazi Beach
The beach is beautiful and empty. But the sea is rough, not ideal for swimming.
Sleepy town, a small shop for bare essentials, no restaurants - just a pizza take away place at the main beach and a snack bar.
Great Indian restaurant about 25 km away, at Tinley Manor Beach, called Impulse.
