The Milnerton Golf Club is situated in Cape Town, South Africa and like many of Cape Town’s courses, it boasts a spectacular setting. The club is situated on an island of land between the Rievlei River and Lagoon, and the Atlantic Ocean. The length of the course runs concurrent with the beach, ensuring that throughout your game, the sound of the waves lapping the shore will keep you calm and focused. Furthermore, being located in the northern suburbs, the view of Table Mountain and Table Bay is post-card pretty.
The course has 18 holes, which are usually undertaken 9 at a time, with a break for lunch at the scenic halfway house in between. The course is mostly flat, and being located on the west coast, has few trees. Instead there is coastal scrub on the edges of the green and there are 7 water holes to keep the game challenging and interesting.
A major plus for the course, being located on the lagoon as it is, is the excellent natural drainage system. This makes Milnerton’s golf course one of the best courses to play on in the Cape’s rainy winters, as the course rarely stays soggy for long.
The Milnerton Golf Club offers a variety of basic golf services such as the pro-shop where you can buy all manner of golfing equipment and organise golf lessons. The also offer rental equipment such as golf carts and clubs.
The club house has a 5 star lounge and restaurant, which require a smart casual style of dress – well worth it for the views over the bay and of the mountain.
Milnerton Golf Club offers reasonable prices and the location, just 10 minutes from Cape Town Central is decidedly memorable as well as convenient.
