Located on the Golden Mile Strip in the heart of Durban, the Olive Convention Centre is a popular venue for a number of different functions and exhibitions. The centre has six venues and breakaway rooms for multiple uses. The centre is a first-class facility that can hold a capacity of 1500 people at a time. While all the venues are reputable, and stocked with modern equipment and technological aids, the Main and Boutique Auditoriums are the most popular. Both spaces are designed to cater for a variety of different events and create a setting of intimacy between persons who are lecturing and their respective audiences.
A number of plans have been implemented to reduce the centre’s carbon footprint, including the use of energy efficient lights and the recycling of rainwater for non-potable uses.
Visitors to the centre can enjoy snacks served during intermissions as well as full meals during lunch breaks. Dietary requirements or specific needs of individuals will also be catered for.
Individuals looking for a quick break can do so at the nearby attractions in the area. The Moses Mabhida Stadium is less than a kilometre away from the centre and is a great place to visit if it’s your first time in Durban. The stadium is a colossal landmark that was built for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The locals consider it an iconic masterpiece because of its incredible architectural design.
