Oude Libertas is a unique spot in the winelands of Stellenbosch, situated on the slopes of the Papegaaiberg.
It is a gorgeous art, theatre and lifestyle venue surrounded by vineyards and oak trees and with a magnificent view.
Oude Libertas offers open-air amphitheatre, an art gallery, food and wine, a slow market on Saturdays, yoga classes, kiddie activities, wine tasting events, film screenings and picnics on offer - all in a most unique environment.
The venue consists of:
- A cinema style auditorium, seating 85-100 people and opening out onto a piazza overlooking the Stellenbosch mountains.
- The Oude Libertas Art Gallery, which can host up to 100 people in its inside and outside areas.
- A function hall with a stage and a cosy fireplace, seating up to 400 people.
- A cellar area with a fireplace and small kitchenette, leading onto an outside area under trees overlooking the vineyards and mountains of Stellenbosch.
- The piazza, which is lined by green oaks and ideal for events in summer
- The garden, which is a perfect spot for a picnic or just to kick off your shoes and relax under the trees
The venue play host to numerous events and productions throughout the year.
