Mediclinic is a private hospital
located in Panorama in the Northern
Suburbs of Cape Town.
It was the first Mediclinic facility to be planned and
commissioned just 3 years after the Mediclinic group was founded. The
hospital opened its doors to the public
in 1986 and has been incredibly successful in providing medical care since
its inception.
This
hospital is part of the largest, most well-known and well-established private
medical care groups in South Africa. Mediclinic in South Africa is the Southern
African division of Mediclinic International which is the 6th largest private hospital group in the world.
Mediclinic prides itself on providing world
class medical care by highly trained nursing staff and medical professionals.
Panorama
Mediclinic offers a variety of health
care services. These include CT scans, MRI scans, radiology, pathology,
fertility treatment, renal dialysis and a cath lab. It also has specialised
clinics like the Biokinetic and Rehabilitation Centre, the Antenatal and Post Natal
Clinic, Diabetes Clinic, Memory Clinic, Fertility Clinic and a 24 hour chest
pain clinic to name a few.
There is a 24 hour emergency centre with staff
specialised across all fields who are trained in life-saving techniques. The staff
are backed by state-of-the-art
technology to help provide proper care for patients.
However,
what the hospital is renowned for is its
Heart Unit and Oncology Unit which opened in 1995 and are a resounding
success. The neonatal intensive care unit and the endoscopy unit, which opened
in 1998, have transformed the way in which these two services are provided in
South Africa.
