Accommodation near Robberg Beach - 8
Robberg Beach is a veritable gem in the Plettenberg Bay
crown, and one of the beach resort’s most lovely beaches. The beach offers many
exceptional aspects which make it an attractive choice amongst Plett beach
goers and its status as a blue flag beach no doubt contributes to its
popularity.
The beach stretches for approximately 8 kilometres between
the Robberg Peninsula, which juts out of the coast and is home to the Robberg
Nature Reserve, and the Beacon Isle. The
entire length of the beach consists of a soft white sandy shoreline, with the
warm Indian Ocean lapping at its edges. The beach offers plenty to its
visitors, and various parts of the beach offer different things, for example,
Robberg 5, which is located approximately half way down the beach, is a popular
surfing and body-boarding spot.
Robberg Beach boasts excellent facilities and depending on which
sections of the beach you choose to visit, you will find a convenient parking
lot, boardwalks, benches, ablution facilities and a look out deck. There are
also chair and umbrella rentals, and in the high season (December to January),
life guards are on duty to keep an eye on swimmers.
Walking or jogging along the length of the beach (or part
thereof) is one of the most rewarding ways to enjoy the beach – especially in
the early morning. There is nothing quite like strolling along an empty beach,
watching the sun rise. If you’re lucky you might well also share the morning
with a pod of dolphins or whales.

Plettenberg Bay! I never knew a town could feel so much like holiday. The shops, scenery and special places like Robberg - all wow. This is on top of my list for a revisit. Quite close to some of my great life experiences like Birds of Eden, Monkeyland and others. Don't ever just pass by.
