Accommodation near Scottburgh Beach

Scottburgh Beach caters to all types of beach-goers – from individuals who want to quietly read on the soft, warm sand to active thrill seekers looking to ride the perfect wave.

Located on the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal, Scottburgh Beach, with its warm sea and vast stretches of sand is a popular weekend hangout for the locals and an ideal holiday destination for tourists.

As Scottburgh Beach is shark-protected and patrolled by a group of qualified lifeguards, swimming is incredibly safe at low tide.  Holidaymakers who aren’t fond of the  crashing waves of the ocean; can splash around in the shallower, gentle waters of the nearby lagoon. If you’re searching for some fun water sports to partake in, canoeing is a hugely popular past time. Canoes can be hired out at a small fee if you don't own a boat. Novice paddlers can enjoy a practice session on the lagoon before heading out into deeper waters.

Beach-goers looking to escape the sand and sea can whizz down super tubes at the nearby water park. Alternatively, opt for a game of putt-putt with the whole family. Comprising of 18 holes, the game will keep you entertained for an hour or two. While in play, marvel at the views of the ocean.

Following a morning on the beach, choose from a plethora of seaside restaurants, cafes, and bars. Here you’ll have the opportunity to indulge on the local cuisine while enjoying some fresh air and soaking up the sunshine. Those who’d prefer a picnic on the beach can order takeaway meals and refreshments from nearby fast food franchises.

Surfers who are in need of new gear can purchase affordable merchandise from the surf shop in the area. Alternatively, colourful, summery bikinis and board shorts are available to those who forgot to pack appropriate beachwear for their vacation.

Visitors looking for a keepsake or trinkets to remember their holiday by can peruse an eclectic assortment of knickknackery at the various curio shops. If, however, you don’t want to spend money, just walk along the coastline and find collections of seashells that have been washed ashore.

Wow! wow! wow! what an awesome place to do vacation. Ramsgate catered to the needs of all of us and everything from the beaches, food places offered us a holiday experience. Ramsgate is indeed a holiday destination, from retro restaurants on the beaches like the(Waffle House), to the fun in the sun activity for my kids. The road signs were clearly visible which made new comes like us feel at ease and assisted us settling into the area rather quickly. The information booklets (southern explorer) help us choose daily activities and provided much need information like who to call in an emergency.
