Accommodation near The Boardwalk Casino - 11

The Boardwalk Casino is an entertainment complex in Port Elizabeth. Located in Summerstrand, a coastal suburb just north of the city centre, it is often posited as Port Elizabeth’s activity hub. It boasts a wide range of entertainment options for people of all ages, and the conference facility holds appeal for business people too.

Apart from the many activities available, the Sun International casino’s major attraction is the lake and fountain, with its boardwalk styled as an old fashioned one would be – skirting the lake and surrounded by old-style architecture. The fountain reaches up to 60 metres and is engineered to create a variety of water patterns, all choreographed to music. The Boardwalk Casino fountain is said to be one of the largest fountains in the southern hemisphere.

To truly enjoy the outdoor boardwalk experience, it’s recommended that you stop at one of the 8 al fresco eateries resting on the banks of the lake. If the weather is less than optimal, there are a further 8 restaurants indoors, offering a total of 16 restaurants, which between them offer the full range of culinary experiences from Asian to Italian.

There is a beauty spa run by Africology, offering anything from facials to massages and a host of retail outlets, selling clothes, African souvenirs and jewellery to keep you happy.

The 24 hour casino has slots and tables and while over 18’s try their hands at gambling, children will be entertained by the gaming arcade or at the bowling-alley, go-kart track or cinema.

The Boardwalk Casino complex also offers a variety of conference spaces, the largest accommodating 1680 delegates. When the conference is let out, delegates can shed their shoes and skip down to Hobie Beach, which is within an easy walking distance of the venue.
