Accommodation near Wild Coast Sun

The Wild Coast Sun is one of Sun International's most popular and exotic properties. The casino group's renowned for their string of casino and hotel complexes, but very few can match the setting of this one or the facilities it has to offer.

The Wild Coast Sun lies on the South Coast in the Eastern Cape, but it is only 1 kilometre from the border with KwaZulu Natal, and 5 kilometres from Port Edward. The resort lies on a 750 hectare property between the Mtamvuna and Mzamba Rivers, and provides great views over the Indian Ocean from many different points on the property.

The 18-hole golf course is ranked one of the top courses in Southern Africa. It is a cart only course, which some may see as a detractor from the challenge, but the wind which sometimes whips up will keep players engaged and besides, the scenery is so magnificent that you probably won't mind anyway. The country club offers light lunches and a view of the sea and the 18th hole.

Visitors to the Wild Coast Sun can also be entertained at the Wild Waves Water Park, a family delight with rides suitable for all ages. They come in all shapes and sizes, from the Aqua loop, which is a body slide, to the various speed slides- the tallest, fastest and steepest slides - and the lazy loop which is equivalent to sitting in a tube and floating gently round a circuit.

The casino boasts the usual variety of slots and tables, with the Plantation Room providing a particularly opulent experience, with black jack and roulette tables alongside a smoking bar and great views of the property and the sea.

There is a range of restaurants too, from the fast food variety and light meal bistros to more formal seafood restaurants and steakhouses.

The Wild Coast Sun is a popular destination for KwaZulu Natal and Eastern Cape locals and perhaps you too.

Port Edward Reviews

Port Edward
After seeing how dirty and run down Port St. John was, I am so happy I had picked Port Edward to stay. The town has a lot of western influence, was clean and people were friendly. The beach in our area was nice but not able to do a long walk on the beach due to rocky coast line. It was a good overnight stop, would not stay for long.

Port Edward
Excellent and one does not get "ripped off" for being on holiday. All facilities were good and very reasonably priced including the Vet - Dr. Watson - who we used for our four legged child and we can highly recommend him.
