Quigney Verblyf

As you may agree, Quigney is quite a strange name for a place, however, despite its somewhat unfortunate title this suburb in East London is actually quite a pleasant place to find yourself. It is situated in the older, southern part of the city, which gives it an old-school feeling which is complimented by the views and fresh sea air.

Quigney is situated in one of South Africa’s friendliest cities. East London, which lies on the coast of the Eastern Cape province  is surrounded by green rolling hills and is also the gateway to the traditional tribal lands of the isiXhosa group. It lies 400 kilometres to the north east of Port Elizabeth, and 600 kilometres from Durban.In general the small city doesn’t get much attention, but there are indeed some great spots there, which you will discover if you stay in Quigney.

The suburb lies just east of the CBD, which is home to many examples of colonial architecture. The most well-known and beautiful of these is the town hall on Oxford Street. The harbour, which lies at the mouth of the Buffalo River (which roughly forms the southern boundary of the city) is also an interesting spot. Not only is the  buzz of harbour life quite something to observe, but  it is also the launch site for river cruises which take you up the Buffalo River. Restaurants along the sea front abound too, offering tasty fare and lovely views of the Indian Ocean.

The East London climate, which you will experience in Quigney, is temperate, remaining pleasant and mild throughout the year – perfect for visiting the beach or strolling along the seaside promenade.Quigney has plenty of amenities too though, so if you don’t want to leave at all, you will have everything you need at your fingertips.
