Sea Park is located on the beautiful South Coast of KwaZulu Natal. This coast is renowned for its beautiful beaches, the warm Indian Ocean, lush indigenous vegetation and the perfect climate for beach activities. Sea Park won’t let you down!
Located less than 120 kilometres from Durban, Sea Park allows local and international travellers to kick back in a picturesque location with very little effort on their part. Getting there is simple, by just hopping on the N2 freeway from Durban. Once there, you’ll find another world – a slower one free from noise and crowds.
Sea Park itself consists of a beach and a couple of houses sprinkled across the town, all within sneezing distance of the sea. There are no amenities though, which lends the place the ultimate seaside escape from reality which many people crave in their harassed day-to-day lives.
Sea Park is a place you come to armed with a good book or kindle, an umbrella and beach attire. The humid subtropical summers (between October and March) mean that on the beach or in the shade on a balcony are the only two places you’ll want to hang out. If you make it to the beach early your chances of spotting dolphins are very good, and if you feel like taking a dip in the warm ocean, a 5 minute beach walk to the south will take you to neighbouring Umtentweni’s main swimming beach. There you’ll find lifeguards on duty, shark nets in place and numerous tidal pools for exploring.
If you need supplies, take a short drive to Port Shepstone, and if you want a brief change of scenery, visit the impressive Oribi Gorge, a few kilometres inland.
