Walking through central Stellenbosch reveals a host of historical buildings, monuments as well as the relaxing botanical gardens. The Stellenbosch area is widely renowned for its local produce, in particular the world class wines, but also its fruits, cheeses and other farm goods. Stellenbosch has a jam-packed event calendar, ensuring that whenever you visit there will be something going on. The Stellenbosch Wine Festival is one of the most popular  events each year, taking place at the time of the annual harvest and allowing visitors the opportunity to join in and learn more about the people and history of the area .
