Stellenbosch Wine Festival 2016
Celebrate the harvesting season in style with the Stellenbosch Wine Festival. This year's wine extravaganza is presented by Pick n Pay on 5 - 7 February 2016 at the Coetzenburg Sports Ground. Vino- lovers will have the opportunity to drink fine wines from 75 acclaimed wineries and ten boutique estates.
Producers of the region will be showcasing their latest vintages to the public. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to enjoy the diversity of varietals that are specific to the Stellenbosch Wine Route. Sip and swirl on wines from the five sub-routes of the region, including Botterlary Hills, Greater Simonsberg, Stellenbosch Valleys and others.
If you're looking for some 'rarer' gems, small producers of boutique wineries will be making an appearance at the festival. These small-time winemakers include the likes of Audacia Wines, King Kloof Vineyards, Usana Wines and several others.
Foodies looking for some treats can head to 'Gourmet Lane', here you'll be treated to delectable cuisine from restaurants with culinary reputations. For a bit of local, South African flavour, munch on some biltong from Pick n Pay's Biltong stand.
For classic food and wine tastings, join celebrity chef, Tiaan Langenegger in the tasting room as he teams up with expert winemakers. Expect an array of explosive culinary creations complemented by an array of wines.
Festival opening times: Friday from 3pm - 9pm, Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday from 10am-6pm. Tastings finish an hour before closing time.
Bring the entire family along and enjoy a day of fine wine, good food and picturesque surroundings.
