Bonnievale Bonanza 2014 - 4
The Bonnievale Bonanza is a sport-based, adventure and family event. It takes place at various venues throughout the town of Bonnievale, with a central festival area at the Bonnievale High School grounds. Best of all, the Bonanza is all for a good cause and proceeds go to Bonnievale Highschool.
The Bonnievale Bonanza takes place in the small farming town of Bonnievale in the Western Cape. It attracts locals, tourists, community organisations and visitors from all over the Cape on an annual basis.
The festival began in 1994, and has grown each year since. The 2013 event attracted over 5 000 visitors, 60 exhibitors and R 300 000.00 in media coverage. The Bonanza programme includes music, dance, agricultural fun, exhibition of arts and crafts of local school projects, old veteran motors, ‘potjiekos’ competitions, local products
and food and drink vendors.
Some of the activities you can look forward to at this event are:
- A Kokkedoor pop up restaurant at Weltevrede Family Wine Estate
Chefs Tiaan Langenegger en Mynhardt Joubert, winners of Kyknet Kokkedoor 2013, will serve a four course dinner paired with Weltevrede Wines. - Cycling
There will be several road cycling events ranging from a 9.8km fun cycle to a challening 96km ride for serious cyclists. - Mountain Biking
There will be a 31km and a 50km MTB route available - Fun Run/Walk
Take part in the 5km and 8km Multi Save Fun Run/Walk through the beautiful vineyards and - 4x4 routes
A fantastic 4x4 route will be taking place on the farm Citrus Poort just outside Bonnievale on Saturday 1st Nov. - Potkiekos competition
The annual SPAR Potjiekos competition at the Bonanza is a highlight for many.
