Cape Town International Jazz Festival 2017
Affectionately dubbed as 'Africa's grandest gathering', Cape Town International Jazz Festival is considered the largest, most renowned music festival in Sub-Saharan Africa attracting over 38 000 jazz lovers worldwide. The annually held event, now in its 18th year of running, features acclaimed national and international jazz performers who come together for the love of the genre.
In 2017 Cape Town's CTICC will once again be transformed into a menagerie of festivity with five stages for a variety of performances - incorporating anything from sultry blues and Brazilian bosa nova style to pop-y acid jazz. The festival will be held on 31st March and 1st April 2017 and tickets will be available from Computicket soon.
Not solely focused on the music, the CTIJF strives to sustain the growth of the entertainment industry as a whole through its focus on training and development works of which are fundamental to up-and-coming and established artists. Furthermore, Outreach programmes encompass school-goers drawn from selected arts and culture focus schools, to professional journalists and photographers, granting them greater insight with which to expand their careers.
