Constantia Fresh 2017
The Constantia Fresh Festival is now in its seventh year running and has become one of the most prestigious outdoor wine events in South Africa. This year’s instalment will be hosted at the Buitenverwachting Wine Estate on the 25th February 2017.
The festival is set in the heart of the Constantia Wine Route, South Africa’s oldest wine region. The Constantia Wine Route is made up of eight wine farms, several of whom have won accolades in recent years.
The Constantia Fresh Festival is unique to many other wine events in that it takes place outdoors in amongst the beautiful scenery and fresh air, rather than in overcrowded, stuffy halls.
The festival celebrates all things ‘fresh’. After all, quality cuisine is prepared using the freshest ingredients. While focussing on organic produce, the event is also a renewal of life through a series of novel experiences.
The 2015 event saw more than 1200 attendees at the festival, sipping and sampling on 200 of the country’s finest wine varietals. The wines were grouped stylistically and top South African chefs prepared tasty canapes to enhance the aroma and flavours of the individual wines. These top-notch chefs included the likes of Peter Tempelhoff, Christian Harbeck, Brad Ball and others.
In addition to all the delicious wine and food on offer, visitors can browse at the antique market, buy art, participate in coffee tastings and relax on the grassy verge while listening to local music performances.
Indulge in a day of fantastic wines, food and interesting people and leave feeling mentally and physically ‘fresh’.
