Eco Film Festival Eastern Cape 2015
The 2015 South African Eco Film Festival brings the best local and international eco documentaries to South African audiences. The Festival offers a world-class programme of beautifully shot and engaging short and feature-length films exploring a wide range of environmental topics.
For the Eastern Cape wing of the festival, it is being hosted at the Khula Dhamma Retreat Centre in Haga Haga from 27 - 29 March 2015.
This festival will be an eye-opening and mind-blowing weekend and camping event spreading the message of environmental awareness and conservation through engaging, educational and change-inspiring documentaries and films. Several world-class documentaries will be showcased highlighting a wide range of issues relevant to South Africa offering exciting insights and solutions.
The programme includes more than 25 documentaries, 12 of which have never been seen in South Africa before. Questions that this year's films seek to ask and try answer include: how can parents get their kids away from electronic screens and into nature? What are the thousands of industrial chemicals we are constantly surrounded by doing to our bodies? Will sharks survive humanity’s seemingly insatiable hunger for shark fin soup?
Members of the audience will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite film, which will be decorated with the Silver Tree Audience Choice Award.
Visitors to the festival will have the option of camping on the grounds for the weekend or overnighting in the available accommodations, viewing the screenings outdoors beneath the stars, taking part in yoga, tai chi and meditation classes, enjoying healthy vegetarian and vegan and exploring the land.
All tickets include breakfast and lunch for both Saturday and Sunday and access to all screenings and meditation and yoga classes.
