Falke Full Moon Hike at Delvera - September 2018
You can enjoy the sunset over Table Mountain with stunning views of the Winelands and even a picnic whilst the full moon rises over Klapmutskop at the Falke Full Moon Hike on the 25th September 2018.
This 9.75km marked circle route through the vineyards starts at the Delvera Trail Centre located on the Delvera Farm. This gives you the unique experience of hiking through the Greater Simonsberg Conservancy and Yellowwood forest to the top of Klapmutskop. It can take you up to one and half hours to reach the top. Therefore, be at the Trail Centre no later than 17h45 to ensure that you have the full experience!
A shuttle service is available, especially for children. The hike then starts with the single track at the Pepper Tree – this will shorten the route to less than 5km in total. This option will take about 30 minutes to the top. You can be back at the Trail centre from 20h00, depending on your walking speed.
The price per person is R100 and R50 for children under 10 years old. Prices include permit, marked route & map, optional shuttle.
Bring something warm to wear after dark and a torch, but there is a selection of Energizer torches available at the Trail Centre as well. Wear hiking shoes – you are climbing a mountain. Snacks & cooldrinks for sale at the Trail Centre. Dirtopia Café will be open until 21h30 with food & drinks. Book a room in the Trail Lodge and stay over!
