Franschhoek Summer Wines 2017
While the end of the holidays may be fast-approaching, Franschhoek's celebrates the continuation of summer with the annual Franschhoek Summer Wines. This much-anticipated event sees the flocking of connoisseurs and casual drinkers to the picturesque valleys of Franschhoek to sip on award-winning wines.
Having been regarded as South Africa's leading wine destinations, attendees will be brought into the harvesting season in style.
Each year, winemaker or 'vignorens' showcase their chosen favourites of seasonal reds, whites and rose. Attendees can sample these varietals from thirty of Franschhoek's top-notch wineries.
For the hungry, a wide selection of gourmet dishes is available from the onsite kitchen. You'll be able to feast on succulent rotisserie-cooked meats, deli-styled meals and home-baked treats from the harvest table. Through the use of a pay-by-weight system, both individuals with ravenous appetites as well as the not-so-hungry are catered for.
While sipping on wines or munching on delicious platters of food, relax on the sprawling lawns or the verandah. As you marvel at the unparalleled views of the valley, enjoy live music performances by a string of local, talented musicians.
As always, a dress code does need to be adhered to. With the 2017 theme being 'elegantly white', fashionistas and dapper gents are encouraged to dress to impress in their classic, white ensembles.
Join the Franschhoek Vignerons at the annual Summer Wines Festival at Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards from 12pm to 5pm. This is a not-to-be-missed event, to avoid disappointment book your tickets now!
