Gugulethu Wine & Lifestyle Festival 2015
Gugulethu Wine and Lifestyle Festival promises to transform the month of November and shed this Cape Town township in a whole new light. In 2015 the festival will celebrate its fourth year, and its popularity is set to reach new heights. The festival was the brainchild of 2 locals, Lungile Mbalo and Mzoli Ngcawuzele (the man behind popular Gugulethu eatery and tourist attraction, Mzoli’s Place).
Guests can sample over 60 wines, where a showcasing of rose wines will welcome in the summer season. For all those wine sommeliers out there, there will a selection of wine masterclasses with some of the Cape's best local winemakers. For the hungry, there is a delectable array of food from the Hipster Food Truck Village.
While the wine is the main attraction of the festival, there will be a range of speciality beers presented by SAB Miller. Ladies, if you're looking to win big, be sure to 'go glam in gugs' and stand a chance to win a R30 000 prize! Alternatively, check out the VIP tent, a cosy lounge sponsored by Jameson Irish Whiskey, Absolut Vodka and Mumm Champagne. If that's not enough, car enthusiasts are also well taken care of with an exclusive car display.
A selection of top brands will feature at the event, with Bos Iced Tea, SAB Miller, Coca- Cola, Distell, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Absolut Vodka, and Valpre Spring Water.
For the designated driver or the straight edge, Bos Ice Tea will be launching new, exciting flavours for the tasting, and will come with an experiential marquee and tuk tuk to transport guests around. Foodie lovers can also participate in a 'build your own burger' experience.
To accommodate the festivities, there will be some chilled tunes by local DJS and laid back Jazz numbers on Sunday.
