International Day of Yoga 2018
International Day of Yoga (21st June) is a globally recognized event, unanimously declared in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly.
Yoga Works would like to invite Johannesburg to come together on Saturday 16th June 2018 and spend a day sharing the passion and practice of yoga.
This event is FREE and open to anyone who is interested in starting their yoga practice as well as regular yogis.
On the day, there will be several group yoga sessions and workshops that will be accessible to everyone of all levels.
You can support the event by doing the ‘108 Sun Salutation Challenge’ (Donation of R108.00) to sponsor yourself or someone else to participate.
As we celebrate Youth Day on the 16th June 2018 in South Africa, there will be a full children’s yoga program.
Various healthy food and drink vendors will be selling their wares, as well as yoga suppliers selling yoga clothing and props and zero waste vendors, selling eco-friendly lifestyle items. This will be a green, eco-conscious event with an aim to tread lightly on the environment.
This event will be held at Bidvest Wanderers Stadium, Corlett Drive, Johannesburg.
All proceeds of this event will be donated to Dlala Nje, a community centre aimed at providing a safe learning environment for children and youth. They aid to challenge perceptions and create opportunities in the city’s most misunderstood areas and do this through running inner-city immersions and experiences, including yoga.
Main sponsors of the event are Lenovo, Momentum Multiply, Wanderers Sports Medical Centre and Bidvest Wanderers Stadium.
Although attendance is free, registration is required. Visit www.yogaworks.co.za/events to register.
