Karoo-lus 2017
With the Karoo being so rich with regards to its culture, heritage, and way of life, it only makes sense that it be celebrated with a festival which is as unique as the region is. Karoo-lus is an annual festival situated in the jewel of the Karoo, Graaff-Reinet. This year, it runs from 29 - 30 September 2017 it at the Botanical Sports Grounds.
The festival, formerly known as 'Graaff-Reinet Dam Day' celebrates the unique traditions, lifestyle, food, music and arts of the Karoo people. Yearly, more than 5000 people attend the event and there are more than 80 stalls offering food, drink and local crafts.
Top South African musicians will be performing over the weekend, including the following:

- Dr Victor Band
- Robbie Wessels
- Refentse
- ADAM
- MWAH! and many more.....
In addition to the musical performances, there will be an array of exciting activities, including talent competitions, dog shows, cooking competitions, koisan dance performances, Mr and Miss Karoo-lus, a race and a Rodeo Bull, for all those who have the guts to take on the challenge of staying on the bull.
Kids are entertained at the designated play area which will keep the little ones busy throughout the course of the event.
The show grounds are disability friendly and equipped with a first aid tent and security.
Tickets for this event are only be available at the gate, and no pre-bookings or purchasing of tickets is possible.
