Love Rosendal Festival 2016
The picturesque village of Rosendal will be celebrating the month of love with their seventh annual Love Rosendal Festival from 12-14 February 2016. Bring your beloved and your families along to take part in this three-day event, where the creativity and innovation of the locals will be put on display.
Attendees can look forward to a wide selection of activities - from live music performances, the extravagant Valentine's day parade, comedy shows, sporting events and entertainment for the kids.
Shopaholics and lovers of market knickknackery can peruse through the craft stalls to purchase memorable keepsakes and gifts for loved ones back home. For festival-goers who like to laugh, some of South Africa's favourite funnymen will be putting in an appearance.
Music-lovers can get into the spirit of things with performances by local artists, or alternatively, get their feet stomping with some gumboot dancing.
For the hungry, there are several food stalls offering up a wide array of street-styled food. If you're looking to test out the local grub, make your way to the Waya Waya Tavern for a traditional township braai at the watering hole.
If you're looking to stay active, sporting events and competitions will be hosted throughout the course of the weekend. If you're looking to really celebrate love and all the giddy feelings that come along with it, participate in the 'love parade' - a march that stretches between the common all the way to the Waya Waya Tavern.
Children will also be entertained through an interactive workshop on costume making, puppet shows and juggling acts by some hilarious clowns!
End your evenings off on a mellow note with a bonfire by the common - here you'll get to enjoy an intimate moment with your significant other, or if you're single, mingle with other like-minded individuals.
